I became a peer counselor to help out the LCC community and get involved. I play lacrosse and hockey and I guess something interesting about me is that I really like dogs.
Samantha Comforti (12)
I became a peer counselor because I want to be the person that I didn’t have coming into LCC. I want to help make LCC a happy and healthy place to be at. I like driving around while blasting music, walking on the beach, and going on random adventures. A fun fact about me is that I hate ice cubes in my drinks.
Jolie Godwin (11)
I became a peer counselor because I believe talking about personal struggles with someone close to your age, who understands more than an adult or parent would, is a great way to vent without being judged and you also gain a friend in the process!
I am involved in Theatre and ASB, I have a club called Random Acts of Kindness, and I work at Islands! I spend my free time watching Friends :) Fun Fact: I cry whenever I see a cute baby or animal. It can be a picture, video, or in person, my eyes just unwillingly fill with water, it’s the weirdest thing!
MJ Bolden (11)
I became a peer counselor because I want to help people and I want to be the person that I needed a while back. My hobbies include volleyball and surfing, fun fact is I work at Starbucks.
Keelin Grubb (11)
I became a peer counselor because I have struggled with mental health issues of my own and know what it’s like to not feel like yourself. My hope is to be able to help others get through tough times they are having and make them feel better because I can relate to what they’re going through and know everything in their life will work out. I love to shop, bake, travel, and hangout with my golden retriever, Cali. I love the color yellow and my favorite song is "When I’ve been drinkin’".
Collin Wagstaff (12)
I became a peer counselor to help those who are in need. All of my life I have put others before me and i figured the best way I can use the skill-set and gifts I was given would be to become a peer counselor. I love to play soccer and I have my whole life and a fun fact about me is that I made the varsity team freshman year by being pulled up for CIF. Something interesting about me is that I have been through two major lung surgeries, one on each side.
Cindy Teasley (12)
I became a peer counselor because I want to spread positivity and be there for anyone who needs a friend or someone to talk to:) Hobbies: cheer, dance, surfing, drawing, theater, listening to music. Fun fact: I can say the alphabet backwards faster than anyone in the world (probably).
Paige Hokunson (11)
My name is Paige and I became a peer counselor because I believe no one deserves to feel alone throughout whatever they are going through. I am someone who loves going to church, going on adventures, and being outside. Also, I genuinely love getting to know people for who they are. A couple of little facts about myself are my favorite animals are ducks and I love the little things in life. I'd love to be friends :)
Eden Markel (11)
I became a counselor because I am committed to helping my peers and truly want to make La Costa Canyon a safe and trusted environment. When I’m not in school or working at Crust, I love spending time with my friends or watching movies. A fun fact about me is that I am the co-president of a political activism club on campus. I feel that the personal experiences I’ve gone through in my life could relate to a lot of students and allow me to give positive input into helping them through hard times.
Skylar Belice (11)
I wanted to become a peer counselor because I saw it as a great way to connect with my peers as well as getting to know people on campus
that I might've not known before. I love to listen to people and just be an extra shoulder to lean on if needed(: At school I'm involved in theatre and ASB! I spend my free time singing, writing songs, or doing theatre productions outside of school too! Fun fact: I'm obsessed with Acai and could eat it anytime,
anyday. Also a Harry Potter and Star Wars nerd.
Aubrie Pache (12)
Hello friendos! My name is Aubrie! I’m so excited about Peer Counseling because I am well aware of the obstacles that one faces on a four year rollercoaster of high school, and I think that having the guidance of someone your own age along the journey is awesome! I love spending my time scooping ice cream at Handel’s, indulging in a school play/musical, and dedicating my time to several clubs on campus (vegetarian club/community club mostly.) A fun fact about me?? I can recite about 100 digits of pi !!!
My name is Gracie and I became a peer counselor to make sure that no one feels alone in the problems that so many of us face in high school. I've been there and it's no fun. I want everyone to know that they have someone to turn to. A little bit about me: I am in ASB at LCC and I'm in 4 clubs on campus. I love to travel, explore and try new things. Also, I have a bit of an obsession with The Lord of the Rings too.
Jillian Carter (12)
Hey everybody! My name is Jill Carter, and I’m a senior here at LCC. I’m also the co-President and founder of the Peer Counseling program here at LCC. My passion for this program stems from my own encounters with overcoming mental health complications, and I want to help others who are in similar positions that I found myself in during the beginning of high school. I desire to study Psych in college and eventually get my Ph.D. so I may become a clinical or counseling therapist. Aside from Peer Counseling, I’m a part of LCC’s Community Club, Journalism program, Comedy Sportz team, and National Honor Society. I also am super passionate about photography, and I love anything to do with music or art.
Skylar Wennerstrom (12)
Hi I'm Sky! I joined Peer Counseling because I know what it's like to struggle alone and I wouldn't want anyone to ever feel that way. Everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and to be reassured that things will always get better. I love to listen and am happy to help others in any way I can:) In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and going on adventures.
Kate Weis (12)
Hi friends! My name is Kate Weis and I am the co-president and founder of Peer Counseling here at LCC! I am incredibly passionate about the happiness and health at our school and I care genuinely about your day to day life. I don't think anyone should have to come to school acting like their life is perfect, because to be honest, nobody's is! I started this program so that you'd have a place to come and be real with someone, have a a place to be unapologetically yourself, and find some solutions to your day to day battles. I would love to have the opportunity to get to know you and just be there for you! I am also the co-president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club here on campus, I LOVE the beach, and I desperately want to be a mermaid and eat Mozy's acai for the rest of my life. I also am a server at Oggis in Encinitas. I love to adventure and I LOVE helping people! When I grow up, I want to be a humans rights lawyer, hoping to travel the world being a voice for those who don't have one, both internationally and nationally. XOXO
Jesse Schroeder (12)
I chose to become a peer counselor because I want everyone at LCC to feel welcomed and to feel as though they have someone there for them. In my free time I enjoy writing and drawing! I'm a youth leader at Saint Elizabeth Seton.
Grace Fairlie (12)
I became a peer counselor because I love being there for people in tough times & in good times. Growing up, the field of psychology always interested me and being a peer counselor is something I've always wanted to do. I love listening to people and doing what I can to make sure people feel cared for and know that they're safe. I love singing, music, volunteering, photography, video film, make up, reading, and spending time with people I love. An interesting fact about me is that I don't have a middle name & I've dyed my hair almost every color in the rainbow (:
